Rules and Regulations

• Eligibility Criteria: Students must be enrolled in 2 Year Full Time MBA program.
• Each team shall comprise of 3/4 members from the same college. A participant cannot be a member of more than one team.
• There is no cap on the number of teams registered per institute.
• No change in the team structure is permitted once the team gets registered.
• The registered email id of POC will be used as the team email id throughout the competition.
• Delayed submissions will not be entertained.
• Use of any unfair means during the competition will lead to disqualification.
• All decisions in matters of eligibility, authenticity & final judgments will rest with the judges and Gaming Committee of XIMB.

Event Description :

Maven is a national level case study based competition organized by CONSTRAT – The Consulting and Strategy consortium of XIMB that brings together the best brains from across the country's finest business schools.

Rules

Team Size: 8-15 + 2 CAs (for lights and sounds) compulsory
Round(s): 3 (Eliminations, Semi-Finals and Finals)
Judging Criteria: Choreography, Energy, Synchronization, Expressions, Stage utilization and stage presence, Costumes, Innovation in song incorporation and fast forward section into performance, Overall impact
Stage Specifications: Closed Auditorium with the audience on one side of the stage.

Elimination

Teams must perform any sequence of their choice on Bollywood songs.
Teams can use non-Bollywood songs for a maximum of 1 minute in their performance.
Time Limit: 3-5 minutes (+1 min setup and clearance time)

Semi-Finals:

Teams can perform an extended version of the piece performed in eliminations.
Teams must perform any sequence of their choice on Bollywood songs.
Teams can use non-Bollywood songs for a maximum of 1 minute in their performance.
Time Limit: 4-6 minutes (+1 min setup and clearance time)

Finals:

Perform an extended version of the piece performed in semi-finals.
Teams need to add a fast-forward section for at least 20 secs where they have to perform (for example 30 second) part of their choreography fast-forwarded to 1.25X or more( to make it 24 seconds or less). The song which is fast-forwarded must also be present in your track before the fast forward section.
Time Limit: 8-10 minutes (+2 minutes setup and clearance time)
Teams can use non-Bollywood songs for a maximum of 2 minutes in their performance.

General Rules:

Only one team per college is allowed.
Participants should use more than one song in their performance.
Only Hindi Bollywood tracks are allowed. No regional language or other songs allowed. (Use of any other tracks will result in a high penalty)
Usage of props is allowed. These have to be brought by the teams themselves but the organizers hold the discretion of allowing it on stage.
The losses/damage to the props is not the responsibility of organisers and will be heavily penalised
Teams are STRICTLY prohibited from mentioning their college names during the performance by any medium. Any team doing so will be awarded a high penalty.
Teams have to submit their tracks (in mp3 format only) and prod-list at desibeats@moodi.org before 15th December 2019 11:59 PM with subject “College Name | Team Leader's MI number” mentioning the exact time & duration where fast-forward has been used in the track.
Teams are requested to submit their props list prior to the competition and props have to be shown during practice slot. (Props will not be allowed if you fail to show them in practice slots)
The soundtrack should also be brought in a pen drive (in mp3 format only) during Mood Indigo.
Any kind of fluid, flame, powders, glitters, heavy or sharp objects or any material which have the possibility of tampering/damaging the stage is STRICTLY not allowed.
Vulgarity and obscenity at any point are strictly not allowed. It can lead to immediate disqualification. Songs should be chosen accordingly.
Performers have to clear the stage in the given time after their performance otherwise they will be penalised heavily by the organisers.

XIMB MUN is a simulation of the proceedings of the United Nations where students learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. You have the chance to actually see for yourself how they work together - in harmony, perfect complements. Process:

1. Register in Team of 3 members.
2. The team can comprise of both 1st years and 2nd years but need to be from the same institute.
3. After Registration, each team has to appear for an online quiz.

First Round:

Second Round:

Event Description :

Resonance is a business simulation gaming event and the theme this year is bitcoin mining. The focus of the game is on the management of economic processes which involves cryptocurrency mining and exchange in the form of business transactions.
The game will be based on mathematical puzzles and will hold the player's attention by using trivia quizzes in between. The interest in the game lies in accurate simulation of real-world events using algorithms, as well as the sync of players' actions to expected consequences and outcomes.
The goal of the game is to mine and earn bitcoins and make profits by exchanging them with virtual money. The game will involve business decision making, strategizing, and problem solving skills. The team having the highest amount in their wallet will be declared as the winner.

COMPELLING EVENT DESCRIPTION:

1.The objective of the game is to be the richest mining team. Therefore at the end of the game, one needs to have the maximum money plus bitcoins.
2. There are 6 mathematical/business puzzles that need to be solved in order to mine the bitcoins within a span of 15 minutes after which you wouldn’t be allowed to solve the same mathematical puzzle.
3. During the game, there would be news items that would be flashed analyzing which the teams need to make a decision whether or not the price of the bitcoin is going to rise/fall and accordingly can sell/buy bitcoins.
4. After the first 5 minutes a Sudoku puzzle will be put on screen to be solved. The teams can solve and gain extra cash which will be added to their wallet.
5. The duration of each Sudoku game would be 20 mins and the team which solves it first would win the cash.
6. There will be a surprise one-time trivia quiz which would add bonus cash into the wallets.

Ever felt like you have some great ideas? That you could be the next Steve Jobs? Reports show that most startups begin in college. So? Is there an idea that you would like to pitch? Awaken the latent entrepreneur within you. Dream big, dream huge. Because who ever said an idea had to sound rational? Anything is possible if you just believe. Xpressions 2019 brings you Ad Valorem, a unique opportunity for students across the country to feel the startup fever!

Round 1- The Ideation Challenge Students are expected to form a group of 3-4. Students are expected to make a PowerPoint presentation of a product that would be relevant to be sold in a B2C (Business to Consumer) market. The presentation may include but is not limited to:
· Source of the idea
· Target Audience
· Economic feasibility
· The value it brings to the society
· Sustainability issues
The teams will be required to present their ideas in front of a panel whose composition will be decided by X-SEED. There will be 7 minutes given for presenting the idea and an additional 3 minutes will be dedicated for questions and answers.
This will be an elimination round. A total of 10 teams will make it to the next round.

Round 2- Marketing Madness

This round will test the teams on basis of creativity, innovativeness and brand building skills.

Round 3- Valuation Warz

The final frontier which will test your pitching as well as you’re investing skills.
More details on Rounds 2 and 3 will be given to the participants after they qualify for these rounds.

Some Ground Rules for the participants:

1. All the members of a team must be from the same college/ institute.
2. Students from different years from the same college/ institute can form a team.
3. Teams should register before 10th October’18 EOD.
4. Teams need to mail their PowerPoint presentation in maximum 10 slides (excluding introduction and thank you slide) to xseed@ximb.ac.in before 13th October’18 EOD. Any submissions after this will not be accepted.

COMPELLING EVENT DESCRIPTION:

Test your skills as an operations manager with this head-scratcher of a case study competition organized by X-Ops! Solve real world problems, and prove you have what it takes to navigate the structure and workings of organizations and the corporate world with aplomb!

General Rules:

1. A team will consist of two members. One person cannot be present in more than one team.
2. First round will be a quiz. The time provided will be 15 minutes.
3. Some questions will be star marked (*) carrying double the weightage of regular ones. In case of a tie, the team with a greater number of starred question rights will be given preference.
4. Entries after the stipulated time will not be accepted.
5. Only top 10 teams will proceed to the next round.
6. In round 1, a link will be provided along with the questions to submit the answer. The link will direct you to an online from where you can provide answers against the corresponding question number.
7. Only one member of the team needs to submit the answers.
8. In multiple choice questions, the choice has to be entered (a, b, c, d or e) and not the full answers. For rest of the questions, you need to enter the full answers.

Pitch It Abroad

Taking The World By Storm


The International Relations Committee(IRC) of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar proudly announces that it will be hosting its flagship event, "Pitch It Abroad" during Xpressions, 2019. Owing to the massive success of previous editions of the event, we have decided to launch it on a larger scale inviting more applications and more brainstorming ideas from the best minds in the campus.

Candidates are required to register in teams of two and devise an elaborate marketing plan for a purely Indian product on a foreign country of their choice. Teams are expected to conduct a thorough research on the product, the market conditions in the country where they want to launch the product, the demographic and psychographic analysis of the country and will have to document their findings and plan of action in a PowerPoint presentation. They will then be asked to pitch their idea in front of an active audience which will include eminent marketing professors. The teams will be judged on the feasibility and freshness of the plan, market research and the 'pitch' they will make within the stipulated time.

So, If you think you have what it takes to unleash one among the myriad of India's endemic products on a global scale, this is the platform to test it out and in the process win lucrative prizes.

The Rules:

● Each team has to select an existing product that is produced and sold only in INDIA. The product has to belong to one of following industries:

Qualified contestants have to pitch the product with the help of PowerPoint presentation not exceeding 5 slides .
Your pitch must comprise of the following:

✓ The country in which you wish to sell the product.
✓ The price (in the respective country currency)
✓ The target audience
✓ The marketing strategy
✓ Source of Investment and breakeven point

● The time limit for the pitch is 7 minutes followed by 3 minutes of Q/A.
● The judge you'll be pitching to will be a marketing faculty. So prepare accordingly.
● The decisions of the judge shall be final and binding.
● In case of any issues pertaining to the rules, the decision of the IRC team will be final and binding.
● The top 3 pitchers will win a complimentary stay in GOA.

The team of Executive MBA at XIMB brings to you the annual National-level business competition to prove your mettle – CHAKRAVYUH, a part of Xpressions, XIMB's annual business & cultural fest.

With the years of corporate experience brought to the class of E-MBA, we meticulously work towards molding the best manager! So, with this platform we lay out a chance for you, to battle against the best minds of the top B-Schools at CHAKRAVYUH
Event Name: CHAKRAVYUH
• Registration via given link (Team of 2-3 members)

Round 1:

Online Quiz it up - This will shortlist the participants based on a well curated business quiz that will not only test the knowledge of the subject but also their presence of mind.

Round 2:

Case Study (Online) - This will be time based case study. Teams with best answer will be selected further.

Round 3:

Treasure Hunt - This will test how fast one can think on their feet. It will be on campus round where team will be performing some strategically planned task. Time allotted - 2 Hours

Round 4:

Stress Management Interview - This will bring the most skilled participant and how they can handle the stress along with their abilities. Time allotted - 2 Hours
• Prizes worth INR 15,000 will be awarded to winner and INR 7,000 to the First Runner Up. Certificates would be provided to all finalists who come down to XIMB for the final rounds.
